Hazardous Materials
This incident involves the potential release of hazardous materials into the surrounding community from the GKN Aerospace facility in Garden Grove. The situation remains ongoing as crews continue working to stabilize a failing tank containing methyl methacrylate, a flammable and potentially hazardous chemical.
Orange County's Medical Officer, Dr. G K, and representatives from the federal EPA and the local Air Quality Management District are actively monitoring air quality around the facility. Currently, they have reported no increase in toxins and that all indicators are normal. Official updates will be posted to OCFA's X Account.
